Hello
My soon to be 12 year old son has bought himself a pair of Orloff Bantams that he is very excited about breeding and showing. I'm excited too because his interest in poultry and showmanship was waining until he found these. He bought them at the Knoxville show last year with his own money. I was not too thrilled to see their condition. They are obviously old - the cock has 3 1/2 inch spurs- and their legs were crusty with leg mites. We have been treating the legs and they have since lost most of their scales from their feet and legs. Do those ever grow back?
I believe the cock isn't up to standard. He is shaped more like a Cornish; real blocky and heavy.
All that said, I would love to find some hatching eggs or chicks from stock that might be closer to show quality.

I just learned about this breed. I heard they eat fire ants. I have fought the battle of ants and lost. Hoping these would clean up my pastures!
How is their personality? They are such pretty birds. Thinking of getting a new coop for just them. I have 7 hens. All of mine are large girls. 3 I got were older and were very skittish . The ones I raised from babies are very friendly.
I am excited about these!
