I got my 2 dozen(25 actually) eggs in from Erhard this past week. But unfortunately 10 broke during shipment. I guess the Postal employees had a hell of a time playing with my package Erhard got back to me and we plan to ship another 15 eggs this week in hopes of them surviving at a better rate this time.I no longer plan to engage myself on Backyard. Due to problems with a certain breed club that seems to want to spare keyboards with me because I belong to the "wrong" club(different breed than Orloffs) I'll likely avoid most public forums. So if you all could, please keep in contact with me through email or this forum. I'd like to devote any resources I can to help out the club with getting started. Also, if anyone ever finds someone with Red/Mahogany Orloffs in the Eastern, or Central even, United States please let me know. If for whatever reason I can't find anyone else with Red and my hatch doesn't prove fruitful I guess I will burden myself with the daunting task of breeding Spangled (I don't know how some people do the whole Mottled/Spangled/Flowered thing)

Sorry to hear about the eggs. That really stinks. Erhard is a great guy to work with though. I hope to avoid the conflicts some of the other breed clubs have. I totally relate to what you are saying about the public forums though. Fortunately with Orloffs the spangling isn't the primary focus since type is more of a priority. My D'uccles on the other hand...lol

Its just nice to have one less thing to worry about once type is finished. Red is a pretty easy color to maintain.

Sorry to hear about your eggs. I also plan on getting a few eggs from Erhard. I just received 9 yesterday from a different breeder & they all made it here fine except for 2 with floating air sacs still. Should be putting them on the incubator tomorrow, cross your fingers since it will be my first time hatching. Would be nice to acquire some Black Breasted Mahoganys as well if they can be found here in the US.

Has anyone ever found any Black Breasted Mahogany breeders or flocks in the US?
